Wild Walks

The spectacular Mirima National Park (or Hidden Valley as it is commonly known) is only two kilometres north of Kununurra, yet it feels like a world away. Covering 2,068 hectares, Mirima’s impressive rock formations and rugged red cliffs are often referred to as the mini Bungle Bungle.

Enjoy an early morning walk every Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the Muster with an experienced guide, as you take in the breathtaking scenery over the back valleys of Kununurra. Hear about Aboriginal uses of trees and plants, bush foods and fruits, see fabulous rock formations and Aboriginal art as you explore the impressive maze of Mirima.

Long trousers, sturdy enclosed footwear and water carried in a backpack to keep your hands free are a must. There are occasional steep climbs and descents through rugged terrain, so these walks are not for the faint-hearted – however, witnessing nature as it comes to life makes the effort worthwhile.

Please note – dogs are not permitted in the Mirima National Park.
